Working with TB Afflicted Communities

We serve communities stricken by TB by partnering with established treatment programs. Our partners have strong roots in target communities, and have systematically overcome economic and social barriers to effectively deliver treatment at moderate to large scales (100s of patients or greater, annually). Our partners identify their top delivery challenges, and we work with them to identify possible solutions. We then work in the community to test options and gather detailed feedback, which often leads to substantial modifications. We judge the burden of introducing technology, for instance, changing existing protocols, training, and dependencies on infrastructure. We adapt our solutions to minimize this burden.

Our present focus is India, with the highest TB burden in the world. Our current partners serve indigent populations in the state of Bihar and in Delhi. An overview of our work in these communities follows.
