The uBox

The uBox is a convenient, palm-sized, intelligent pill dispenser, which reminds a patient when it is time to take his medication, records when a patient has taken a dose, and prevents a patient from double-dosing. The uBox stores 14 doses and is also capable of recording interactions with other devices such as cell phones, PDAs and the uKey.

The uKey

The uKey resembles an audio plug and is embedded with a unique electronic key that identifies the health worker carrying it. It can be clipped to a keychain or necklace. The uBox records the time when a uKey is plugged into it, thus allowing health care worker tracking.

The uSoft

The uSoft software transfers, stores, and analyzes the information gathered by the uBox. It can run on a cell phone, PDA or computer. It is used to program the pill regimen into the uBox as well as analyze and display patient adherence records. It can also be used to visualize and analyze program statistics for an entire trial.

The uPhone

The uPhone is an ordinary cell phone retrofitted with new software that allows health workers to record medical information about each patient visited. The medical data is transfered to a central location and utilized by physicians to promptly respond to problematic events or trends.
