Innovators In Health was founded by a multi-disciplinary team of students and alumni of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including:
Manish Bhardwaj
Manish leads Innovators In Health and is responsible for group strategy, planning and execution. He is completing his doctorate in energy efficient wireless systems at the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to his doctoral work, he was a co-founder and Vice President at Engim Inc., ... more ... a private venture backed wireless semiconductor startup. Engim's IP was acquired by Edgewater Systems, Canada. Manish has published more than 30 papers in peer reviewed journals and has won numerous awards including the IBM Research Fellowship, the MIT Graduate Student Council teaching award, the CrayQuest Gold Award for high performance computing, and the Compaq Gold Medal for graduating at the top of his class. Manish has a S.M. in EECS from MIT, and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He grew up in India and lived in Indonesia, Singapore and Austria prior to the U.S.
Sara Cinnamon
Sara is responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of the uBox. She also manages the design of promotional material and technical writing for IIH. Sara has prior entrepreneurial product design experience with MolySym and has independently contracted with companies such as Raytheon and Cuisinart. She also has several patents pending for ... more ... independent inventions. Sara is a member of Sigma Xi and Pi Tau Sigma honors societies, and has her Master's in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley.
Goutam Reddy
'Greddy' devised the overall architecture of the uBox system. He is responsible for designing the electronics and firmware of the uBox and uKey. Greddy holds past EE design experience from working for MolySym as well as sensing and robotics from the Biomechatronics Group at the MIT Media Lab. He also has relevant developing world experience from Developing World Prosthetics, ... more ... a non-profit he cofounded to improve low-cost rehabilitation devices. Greddy received a Master's in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), as well as B.S. degrees in Mathematics and EECS from MIT.
Bill Thies
Bill is the architect of the first uPhone prototype and is working with Pallavi to deliver the second generation uPhone and server software. He is a final-year graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he is a member of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. His research focuses on programminglanguages for parallel computing ... more ... and biological lab-on-a-chip systems, as well as innovative technologies for the developing world. Bill has published over 25 peer-reviewed papers and is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi, and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies. He has been recognized as a Siebel Scholar, as well as a national co-winner of the Eta Kappa Nu Outstanding EECS Student Award. Bill holds a B.S. in computer science, a B.S. in mathematics, and an M.Eng in computer science, all from MIT.
Pallavi Kaushik
Pallavi was instrumental in getting the uPhone effort started, and now focuses on the uPhone's wireless server, and technology to allow displays in Indic languages. She is a researcher at Motorola Labs, Schaumburg, IL, and completed her Master's from the MIT Media Lab, where she worked on drug adherence for the elderly, among other things.
